# How to Amend Order Line Quantities

## Amending Product Quantities in a Sales Order

When available stock is insufficient for a sales order, you need to adjust quantities to ensure the order can be processed correctly.

  <Step title="Create a sales order">
    Begin by creating your sales order as usual, including the quantity of items you want.

  <Step title="Identify insufficient stock">
    If the quantity you enter exceeds the available stock, the **quantity box will turn red**. This indicates there is not enough stock to fulfil the order.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Adjust the quantity">
    Type over the red text and enter a quantity that matches the available stock. Once corrected, the quantity box will no longer be red and you can proceed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete the sales order">
    After adjusting the quantities, continue with the rest of the sales order process as normal.

<Warning>If you do not amend the quantity when stock is insufficient, the sales order will not show as *Completed* after processing. The summary will indicate that the full order was not picked.</Warning>

<Info>The system will not automatically adjust quantities for you. You must manually correct them to match available stock.</Info>
