# Disable MFA in Security Settings

> How to turn off multi-factor authentication from Security Settings.

You can turn MFA off from your Security Settings. Because this is a sensitive change, Clarus WMS asks you to re-confirm your identity before completing it. We recommend keeping MFA on whenever possible — it's the most effective protection against account takeover.

<Info>
  **Gradual rollout:** Multi-factor authentication is being rolled out gradually, organisation by organisation. You may not see it on your account yet — that's expected. Once it's available, you'll be prompted on your next sign-in.

## Disable MFA

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Security Settings">
    From the left-hand navigation, open your user profile and select **Security Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Disable MFA">
    Find the **Multi-Factor Authentication** section and click **Disable MFA**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Re-enter your password">
    Even though you're already signed in, Clarus WMS asks you to enter your **current password** again to confirm the change.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter a code from your authenticator app">
    Open your authenticator app, find the **Clarus WMS** entry, and type the current six-digit code into the **Verification Code** field. Click **Verify Code** to complete the disable action.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove the entry from your authenticator app">
    Once MFA is disabled in Clarus WMS, you can delete the **Clarus WMS** entry from your authenticator app to keep it tidy. This is optional — leaving the entry in place doesn't cause any problems.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>Disabling MFA removes the extra protection on your account. Anyone with your password could sign in without a second check. We strongly recommend re-enabling MFA as soon as possible if you turn it off temporarily.</Warning>

<Note>If you cancel out of the disable flow, or either of the verification steps fails, MFA stays enabled on your account.</Note>

## Will I be prompted to set up MFA at login again?

No. After you disable MFA, Clarus WMS won't ask you to set it up at sign-in. If you change your mind, turn MFA back on yourself from Security Settings — see [Enable MFA in Security Settings](/knowledgebase/security/enable-mfa).

## Turning MFA back on

You can re-enable MFA at any time from the same Security Settings area — see [Enable MFA in Security Settings](/knowledgebase/security/enable-mfa). You'll need to scan a fresh QR code and add a new entry to your authenticator app.
