# Why Can't I Putaway?

This guide explains common reasons why you might have issues with putaway and how to fix them.

## Check location settings for putaway

The most common issue is that the destination location is not set up to allow putaway.

    Go to the **Goods In** screen and look at the **Location To** field. Click on the location in the data grid or search for the location code in the **Locations** tab.

    Once the location settings are open, scroll down to the **Options** section. Check if **Allow Putaway?** is set to **Yes**. If it is set to **No**, change it to **Yes**.

## Resolve issues with suggested pallets on handheld devices

When using **Putaway by Receipt Reference** on handheld devices, the system suggests a specific pallet to scan first, and that pallet's putaway task is assigned to the user who selected the option. If another user tries to scan and put away that suggested pallet, they will be blocked.

**How to resolve this:**

* Have the original user complete the putaway for that pallet, **or**
* Instead of using **Putaway by Receipt Reference**, choose **Putaway by Storage Unit**. This method allows any user to scan and put away any pallet with an active task, avoiding task assignment problems.
