Kitting overview

A kit is a set of individual products sold together as a single package. You create it as a Bill of Materials (BOM) product with the Assemble on Pick option enabled, so the kit is assembled during the picking process.

Setting up a BOM product for kitting

1

Create a BOM product

Create your product as a Bill of Materials (BOM) product. In the Flag section, set these options:
  • Assemble on Pick: Tick this to assemble the kit when picking.
  • New Product?: Tick if it is new; untick if existing.
  • Stop?: Tick to stop sales; untick to reactivate.
  • Obsolete?: Tick if the product is no longer in use.
Click Save.
2

Create a sales order for the kit

Create a sales order as usual, adding your BOM product to the order.
3

View available stock

In the Available Stock column, click the dropdown to view kit details:
  • From Stock: Shows how many complete kits are ready.
  • Individual Items: Lists all parts of the BOM and their stock levels.
