Customising Putaway Rules
Putaway rules determine how products are routed to storage locations during the put-away process. Every product starts with a default rule, and you can add custom rules to optimise your warehouse layout.Default Rule
A default rule is automatically created for every product. It sorts by Code in Ascending order, meaning products are put away by their code starting with the lowest value. This rule cannot be deleted.Adding and Configuring Rules
Select a rule type
Choose one of the following rule types from the dropdown:
Pickface Proximity — stores products near a pickface.Remaining Height — prioritises locations with available height.Walk Sequence — orders products based on the walking route through the warehouse.
Set the rule direction
Choose a direction for the rule:
- Ascending — smallest to largest (e.g. closest proximity, lowest remaining height)
- Descending — largest to smallest
Rules are applied in the order they appear. Drag rules higher in the list to give them higher priority.
