Understanding Picking Rules
Picking rules define how stock is prioritised during the picking process. You can configure these settings per account for both Standard Picking and Tote Picking.Available Pick Rules
- Best Before Date — Prioritises stock with the most recent best-before date. Ideal for managing perishable goods and reducing waste.
- First In, First Out (FIFO) — Picks the oldest stock received first. Ensures older inventory is used before newer arrivals.
- Last In, First Out (LIFO) — Picks the most recently received stock first. Useful for products where the latest batch should be used sooner.
- Sell By Date — Prioritises stock based on the earliest sell-by date. Helps ensure compliance with retail requirements.
Optimisation Features
- Stock Rotation — Used for date-coded stock to ensure optimal turnover and freshness.
- Storage Unit Breakdown Avoidance — Prioritises picking part units first, minimising unnecessary handling and keeping storage units intact.
