How to Set Up and Action Batch Picking

Batch picking improves efficiency by allowing you to pick multiple orders at once, reducing travel time and optimising warehouse operations.
1

Set up your picking area

Navigate to Settings > Locations. Create or edit a location and ensure it is designated as a RACK.
2

Configure batch picking rules

Go to Accounts, then in the account settings, find Flags. Enable the batch pick flag. This helps the system group orders effectively.
3

Create a batch

Go to the Sales Order data grid. Select the orders you wish to include in the batch. The system will generate a pick list for the entire batch.
Ensure all selected orders are ready for picking before creating a batch.
4

Action the batch pick

Follow the sequence on the pick list to collect all items. As you pick each item, scan it using your mobile device or input it manually to confirm.
Always double-check item quantities and locations to avoid errors.
5

Consolidate and dispatch

Once all items are picked, bring them to a consolidation area. Sort items by individual order and prepare them for packing and dispatch. Use the Dispatch module to process each order for shipping.
