Understand location types

There are six location types:
  • GIBAY: Goods-in bay for receiving and temporarily holding incoming stock
  • GOBAY: Goods-out bay for stock being shipped out
  • RACK: Standard racking location, most commonly used for storing pallets
  • PICKANDDROP: For quickly storing and picking up stock
  • WORK: Working area location that cannot receive stock directly
  • BAY: Versatile type that can be used for both incoming and outgoing stock
PICKANDDROP is not recommended for inbound stock received via goods-in, as it may cause transaction issues or duplicate putaway tasks.
Once you have created the location, it will be added to the warehouse you selected and will be ready for use.
